Team USA

Team USA at Regionals and Nationals

Team USA is designed to be a fun experience, open to athletes (10U-18U) that do not have a competing team at Regionals or Nationals.  In this way, siblings of teammates are able to play, as well as others who may not have a team traveling. Teams are coached by parents or coaches, and sometimes combined with another age group.  Requests to be on a person’s team will be honored.

A meeting is held with all the coaches and athletes to match teams with similar competition level while keeping teammates together. These teams then move into the week playing games through the regular brackets. Team USA doesn’t win the championship and doesn’t compete for the gold ball. Friendships are built; connections and networking happens.  Team USA also provides an opportunity for those whose team competed at Regionals to continue to be scouted by colleges with the Regional Awards if their team is not participating in Nationals.

Nationals 2018 fees were $90/player. Regionals 2018 fees were $55/player. (Fees would be paid by the family.) Registration is online with payment accepted through PayPal.

“A Team USA is made up of eligible Home School players from around the country that do not have a full team to play on. This allows players to participate in an NCHC Post Season Event who would not be able to without Team USA. Team USA was birthed at the 1st National Basketball Tournament and has been expanded to Volleyball Nationals and at all NCHC Basketball Regionals.

Team USA can be used by HomeSchool players whose team is not attending Nationals. This happens many different ways including when 3-5 players from one team and a coach want to play at an NCHC Post Season Event but don’t have enough to field a full team and they need to add 3-4 players to compete.”  –NCHClive.com
