“Any team attending an NCHBC Post Season Event (Regional Tournaments) may nominate their top 12u, 14u, Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, &/or Senior players for one of numerous HomeSchool Basketball Individual Awards.” –NCHCLive.com
Coaches receive a specified number of bids and will nominate their athletes for certain award categories in varying age/gender groups that they believe to be worthy of Regional recognition. (As these awards are highly competitive, not all athletes on the team or all categories possible will have nominations.)
These nominations will be publicized during the Regional Tournament on the NCHBC Facebook page, at which time all opposing coaches from the region will vote on all of the region’s nominations.
Winners of the All-Region nominations will be publicized on the NCHBC website at the start of Nationals on their Facebook page, be announced at Monday night’s event, and receive an invitation to play in the All-Region exhibition-style games on Friday evening. All Coaches watching the game will be voting on an All-American team for each age group. All-American teams will be announced in April 2018.
Player of the Year awards will be publicized mid-week and announced at Friday night’s All-Region games and Awards ceremony. “The Winners of (the POY) awards will also become one of 3 finalists on the National Player of the Year Award Ballot in their class and category. The Nationals coaches will vote on the National POY awards after Nationals.”

Opposing coaches will vote on nominees after the Regional Tournament. A Regional POY winner then will advance as a National POY finalist. 12u, 14u, Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, & Senior Players can be nominated by their own coaches for Most Improved, Offensive, Defensive, 6th Man/Woman, Point Guard, Post Player, or Newcomer of the Year.

Coaches attending an NCHBC Regional are the official voters for All-Region Teams, players must make their All-Region team to be make the All-American Ballot.
A player’s team is not required to attend the National Championships to be eligible to make the All-Region Team. A player may play in the all region game even if his/her team does not attend the National Championships. A player’s team must attend the Regional Championship to be nominated for the All-Region Team.
All head coaches of teams that attend Regionals will be invited to make their All-Region Selections via a Coaches Only Voting Form.
Award Information:
Any Regional Award winners will become one of 3 National Finalist in their category. The way the Category Regional/National Player of the Year Awards will work is:
The Offensive, Defensive, Point Guard, Post Player, NCHBC Sportsmanship, Most Improved, & Overall Regional Player of the Year Award will have a winner based on classification, what this means is that in the voting process players are only going to be compared to other players in their own region that are in the same class/age group.
Each Region will have a 12u, 14u, Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, & Senior winner in the following categories: Point Guard, Post Player, Offensive, Defensive, NCHBC Sportsmanship, Most Improved, & Overall Player of the Year (i.e. Big South Senior Point Guard of the Year, Big South Junior Point Guard of the Year, etc.) These players will be selected by coaches vote. The winners of these awards will be announced Wednesday during Nationals.
The Winners of these awards will also become one of 3 finalists on the National Player of the Year Award Ballot in their class and category. The Nationals coaches will vote on the National POY awards after Nationals.
